How often does life seem a mess to you?
I can still remember the time when I had to wake up around 2 a.m. in the morning and then there’s the rollercoaster thought about all the things (tasks) that I had to deliver to my clients by the end of the day. It seemed to me that I have to do the work right there and then. I was all alone and no one to turn to (that was during that time) and so overwhelmed. Suddenly, I realized that I don’t have the right system that would help me organize everything. It was five years ago.
After those chaotic situations, I came to realize that I have to change how I used to think about the work ethic behind an organized entrepreneur. Although a few chaoses will inescapably crawl into your daily routine, certain things will keep you organized. Let’s tackle them one by one.
- Reviewing your goals every single day – sounds monotonous, right? But remember that every successful entrepreneur reviews their goals every day since this allows them to twist and tweak through the chaos. It will also allow you to reveal what should be the priorities and importance.
- Batching – by definition, it means that gathering all your same tasks for the day or for the week and them working on them at once. Let’s take a look at the example below:
- Your email – you can sit down then do them at once.
- Article writing – you may choose to work on them in the morning.
- Business plan writing – you can either work on it in the afternoon or evening.
- Work on the thing that will make your business move one step ahead – most entrepreneurs have one thing in their minds that they know they should prioritize and execute. The only challenge is that they feel too disorganized. The solution? Just do it.
- Sometimes, it’s better to work with major activities for the day – priorities are an important matter, but too many “priorities” would prove to be a disaster. The solution? Just choose a few tasks that you need to get done. And what would be better if you plan your week ahead with the major tasks first.
- An organized entrepreneur delegates tasks – delegation may sound simple or nothing to you. But remember that delegation is the difference between a failed entrepreneur and a successful entrepreneur. You might be confused about the tasks that should be delegated.
Here are some tips on how to determine them properly:
- Measure how you execute your work
- Ask yourself why you are not delegating
- Select the right people
- Feel the need to let go of the tasks to someone
- Learn from your experience
